Pedagogy of Maria Montessori in the context of the development of preschool children

Niniejsza praca ma na celu przedstawienie roli pedagogiki Marii Montessori w kontekście rozwoju dzieci w wieku przedszkolnym. Praca rozpoczyna się od krótkiego biogramu życia autorki metody, a także przedstawienia jej drogi do stworzenia własnego nurtu pedagogicznego. Wyjaśnione zostały podstawowe założenia pedagogiki włoskiej pedagog, a także kluczowe terminy w niej funkcjonujące tj. horme, mneme, plan rozwoju, absorbujący duch, polaryzacja uwagi. Następnie opisane zostały zasady przygotowanego otoczenia. Rozdział drugi poświęcony jest psychologii rozwojowej wieku przedszkolnego, zmianom jakie zachodzą w tym okresie, a także roli otoczenia dla prawidłowego rozwoju. W szczególności zostały poruszone obszary rozwoju poznawczego, motorycznego, manualnego oraz fizycznego. W ostatniej części przybliżyłam jak wygląda praca z pedagogiką Montessori w praktyce, na podstawie mojego doświadczenia. Starałam się przekazać najistotniejsze informacje dotyczące: planu dnia, składu grup, a także wyglądu przygotowanego otoczenia w montessoriańskim przedszkolu. Najważniejszy aspekt jaki został poruszony dotyczy rozwoju dzieci, który jest pobudzany poprzez pracę z różnorodnymi materiałami, współpracy z nauczycielami, a także możliwości swobody wyboru oraz wolności.

This essay is about the role of pedagogy of Maria Montessori in the context of the development of preschool children. The work starts with a short biography of the author's life and presenting her path to creating her own pedagogical trend. The basic assumptions of the Italian teacher as well as key terms functioning in it were explained, i.e. horme, mneme, development plan, absorbent mind, polarization of attention. Then the principles of the prepared environment are described. The second chapter is devoted to developmental psychology of preschool age, changes that occur during this period, as well as the role of the environment for proper development. In particular, the areas of cognitive, motor, manual and physical development were addressed. In the last part I explained how work with Montessori pedagogy looks in practice, based on my experience. The most important information on the day plan, group composition and appearance of the prepared environment in the Montessori kindergarten were provided. The most important aspect that has been raised concerns the development of children, which is stimulated by working with various materials, cooperation with teachers, as well as the possibility of freedom of choice and freedom.
