Użycie struktur z inwersją w języku mówionym na przykładzie programów kulinarnych

Praca przedstawia użycie inwersji, czyli zamiany miejsc elementów składniowych, w języku angielskim. Omówione są dwa typy inwersji: inwersja podmiotu z operatorem i inwersja podmiotu z czasownikiem w formie osobowej. Pierwszy rodzaj pełni jedną z fundamentalnych ról w języku angielskim, czyli tworzenie zdań pytających, których poszczególne kategorie są opisane w I rozdziale. Następnie omówione są inne konteksty, w których pojawia się inwersja, między innymi zdania zaczynające się od negatywnego elementu, życzenia i przekleństwa z czasownikiem modalnym may, zdania warunkowe czy też zdania, w których pierwszym elementem jest przysłówek miejsca lub kierunku.Użycia te są formalne i charakterystyczne dla języka literackiego, dlatego rzadko spotyka się je w rozmowie. Praca następnie przedstawia użycia struktur z inwersją w programach i videoblogach kulinarnych, gdzie podniosły styl i emfaza są potrzebne, aby zainteresować widza nie tylko gotowaniem, ale również językiem, który to gotowanie opisuje.

The paper presents the use of inversion, i.e. the reversal of syntactic constituents, in English. The discussion is based upon the distinction between subject-auxiliary inversion and subject-verb inversion. The former has a critical role of forming the question, of which there are several categories. Other than in interrogative sentences, subject-auxiliary inversion is found for example in sentences which begin with a negative or restrictive constituent, conditional sentences and wishes expressed by means of the modal verb may. Subject-verb inversion is employed less frequently, predominantly in sentences with fronted adverbials of place or direction. All of these uses, with the exception of questions, are rather formal, rhetorical or literary in tone and thereby found principally in literature. The paper presents the use of these formal, emphatic structures with inversion in speech. The corpus provided comes from cooking shows and culinary videoblogs. Numerous cooks and videobloggers realise the significance of the language in the genre of a cooking programme. They use structures with inversion not only for practical reasons, such as emphasis, but also to make their narrative more literary in tone so that it is more attractive for the audience.
