The influence of Deng Xiaoping's thought on the socio-economic system of the People's Republic of China

Praca magistarska zajmuje się zagadnieniem przemian jakie dokonały się w Chińskiej Republice Ludowej po przejęciu w niej władzy przez Denga Xiaopinga. Ukazany jest kontrast między biedą i fatalnym stanem chińskiej gospodarki w czasie rządów Mao Zedonga oraz dynamicznie poprawiająca się jej kondycja po jego śmierci w 1976 roku. Pierwszy rozdział pracy skupia się na biografii politycznej Denga. Drugi prezentuje jego myśli polityczną, społeczną i gospodarczą. Ostatni rodział przedstawia zastosowanie Dengizmu w praktyce, czyli rezultat reform jakich dokonał jego autor pod koniec lat 70-tych i w latach 80-tych oraz jego następcy w kolejnych dekadach. Praca stara się odpowiedzieć na pytanie co stoi za wielkim sukcesem jaki osiągnęły Chiny na przełomie XX i XXI wieku.

The master's thesis deals with the issue of changes that took place in the People's Republic of China after the taking over of power by Deng Xiaoping. It shows the contrast between poverty and the terrible condition of the Chinese economy during Mao Zedong's rule and the dynamically improving condition after his death in 1976. The first chapter of the work focuses on the political biography of Deng. The second presents his political, social and economic thoughts. The last chapter presents the application of Dengism in practice, i.e. the result of reforms made by its author in the late 1970s and in the 1980s and his successors in the following decades. The master's thesis tries to answer the question of what is behind the great success that China achieved at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries.
