Socialist realist and socialist modernist architecture in Częstochowa. Value, ideological significance and perspectives of preservation

Głównym celem niniejszej pracy dyplomowej było przedstawienie historii i problematyki częstochowskiej architektury powstałej po 1945 roku. Praca składa się z trzech rozdziałów. W rozdziale pierwszym przedstawione zostały przemiany jakie przeszło miasto po 1945 roku w wyniku działań władzy komunistycznej oraz historia architektury powstałej po II wojnie światowej do 1989 roku. W rozdziale drugim przedstawione zostały przemiany jakie przeszło miasto po 1990 roku oraz jak zaczęto postrzegać powojenną architekturę po upadku komunizmu. Rozdział trzeci skupia się na czasach współczesnych. Opisuje przemiany jakie obecnie przechodzi częstochowska architektura powojenna oraz zawiera rozważania na temat jej ochrony oraz perspektyw zachowania.

The main goal of this thesis was to present the history and issues of Częstochowa architecture created after 1945. This thesis consists of three chapters.The first chapter presents the changes that the city underwent after 1945 as a result of the actions of the communist authorities and the history of architecture created after World War II until 1989. The second chapter presents the changes that the city underwent after 1990 and how post-war architecture began to be perceived after the fall of communism. The third chapter focuses on contemporary times. It describes the changes that Częstochowa post-war architecture is currently undergoing and contains considerations on its protection and the prospects for its preservation.
