Efektem tego może być ograniczenie globalnych wysiłków na rzecz przeciwdziałania efektom zmian klimatycznych w Arktyce. Geopolityczna rywalizacja Rosji, Chin i Stanów Zjednoczonych nie pozostaje bez wpływu na rdzenną ludność i tak już dotkniętą efektami zmian klimatycznych. Żeby móc w pełni zrozumieć złożoność Arktyki, niezbędny jest szeroki opis obejmujący reżim prawny, uwarunkowania środowiskowe, granice, ludność, zagrożenia, role państw arktycznych i poza-arktycznych. Takim opisem ma być praca "Geografia bezpieczeństwa Arktyki". Intencją autora jest, żeby osoba niezorientowana w problemach Arktyki mogła użyć poniższej pracy bazy i wiedzy niezbędnej do zrozumienia Arktyki.

In the 21st century, the Arctic region is undergoing a significant transformation as a result of global warming. In the Arctic, a notable rise in average temperature is influencing a range of natural phenomena, resulting in alterations to the lives of Arctic residents and the political landscape of Arctic states. In the Arctic Ocean, the reduction in ice cover has enabled fishing in previously inaccessible areas and facilitated access to raw materials resting on the seabed. However, this has also resulted in the flooding of coastal settlements. Consequently, the increasing militarization is resulting in a deterioration of collaboration between states, which is a fundamental aspect of the Arctic's legal and international order. This could ultimately result in a reduction in global efforts to counteract the effects of climate change in the Arctic. The geopolitical rivalry between Russia, China, and the United States has the potential to impact indigenous peoples who are already experiencing the consequences of climate change. To gain a comprehensive understanding of the Arctic, it is essential to have a detailed overview encompassing the legal framework, environmental characteristics, territorial boundaries, demographic profile, challenges, and roles of both Arctic and non-Arctic states. The work, entitled "Geography of Arctic Security," is intended to serve as such a description. It is the author's intention that a person lacking familiarity with Arctic issues can utilize this work as a foundation and a source of knowledge necessary to understand the Arctic.
