Obecnie rzeczywistość nazywana jest społeczeństwem informacyjnym, w którym Internet stanowi jedno z najważniejszych źródeł o zdrowiu. Internet otwiera ludziom duże zasoby nowych możliwości w obszarze zdrowego stylu życia. Praca magisterska pt. „Wirtualny lekarz” skupia się na przedstawieniu zjawiska korzystania z Internetu w sferze zdrowia. Praca składa się z czterech rozdziałów. Pierwszy rozdział prezentuje analizę danych zastanych w obszarze tematyki zdrowia w Internecie w Polsce i porusza kwestię edukacji zdrowotnej online i offline. W kolejnym przedstawiona została teoria społeczeństwa informacyjnego, inteligencji zbiorowej i zaufania społecznego. Następna część pracy zawiera metodologię badania, w której znajduje się cel, problemy badawcze oraz opis zastosowanej metody i narzędzia badawczego. W ostatnim rozdziale zawierającym analizę wyników badań własnych, wypowiedzi użytkowników forum medyczka.pl zostały podzielone na kilka aspektów: posty z zakresu stylu życia i naturalnego leczenia, posty dotyczące zawodu lekarza, interpretacja wyników lekarskich internautów, stosowanie leków przez użytkowników forum, a także poszukiwanie diagnozy. Ostatnią częścią pracy jest zakończenie i bibliografia.

Nowadays, the reality is called the 'information society' where the Internet is one of the most important sources of knowledge about health. The Internet provides new opportunities in the area of healthy lifestyle for a huge amount of people. The thesis 'Virtual doctor' focuses on depicting the phenomenon of the Internet usage in health realm. The thesis consists of four chapters. The first chapter presents the analysis of desk research connected with subjects of health on the Internet in Poland and brings up an issue of health education online and offline. The second one presents information society theory, collective intelligence and social trust. The next part of the thesis contains the methodology of the conducted research, including goal, research problems as well as the description of the research method and tool. The last chapter consists of the results of the research and opinions stated by the users of an Internet Forum medyczka.pl. Their statements are divided into five categories: posts connected with lifestyle and natural treatment, posts about the profession of a doctor, interpretations of medical examinations, use of medicines, as well as posts concerned with the search of diagnosis. The work is closed by summary and bibliography.
