Volcanic hazards and their effects on the example of New Zealand

Głównym celem pracy jest omówienie zagrożeń związanych z erupcjami wulkanów. Zostają opisane produkty wulkaniczne, ich wpływ na środowisko oraz sposoby łagodzenia przykrych następstw. Przykładem kraju, który jest poddawany oddziaływaniu wulkanizmu jest Nowa Zelandia, położona w strefie subdukcji. Przywołanie katastrofalnych wydarzeń uświadamia, że mimo ciągłego monitoringu, mieszkanie w takim obszarze jest bardzo niebezpieczne.

The main objective of this thesis is to discuss the risks associated with volcanic eruptions. Described volcanic products, their impact on the environment and ways to mitigate the unpleasant consequences. Example of a country that is subjected to impact volcanism is New Zealand, located in the subduction zone. Recalling catastrophic events realizes that despite continuous monitoring, living in the such area is very dangerous.
