Abstract in English

The aim of this article is to interpret and create a typology of the woman-sculpture motif which was very popular in the literature of Young Poland. The author analyses texts written by male authors. The methods of the feminist criticism are used in the interpretations. The motifs which are shown in the article are connected with: viewing real women as sculptures, relations between the authority and the subordination, functions of the sphere of the sacred and androgynic motifs in descriptions of sculptures, the apollonian and the dionysian of monuments, the act of destruction, the problem of the feminity of allegorical sculptures which are representations of mythological goddesses.
