Cyberterrorism as the new form of threat to national security

Niniejsza praca magisterska dotyczy problematyki cyberterroryzmu, postrzeganego jako nowe zagrożenie dla bezpieczeństwa narodowego. Praca składa się z trzech rozdziałów. Pierwszy z nich dotyczy kwestii teoretycznych, jak definiowanie cyberterroryzmu. Drugi rozdział zawiera rozważania na temat rodzajów ataków znanych w teorii oraz na tych, które zapisały się w historii i wpłynęły na współczesne pojmowanie cyberterroryzmu. Ponadto, część pracy poświęcona jest tematyce aktywizmu internetowego, którego reprezentacyjną grupą jest Anonymous. W ostatnim, trzecim rozdziale przedstawione zostały działania polskiego rządu i opracowana przez niego Strategia Cyberbezpieczeństwa Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej. Nawiązano także do kwestii ratyfikacji umowy ACTA z 2012 roku, która nie tylko wpłynęła na bezpieczeństwo informatyczne Polski, ale także na relacje ze społeczeństwem.

This master’s dissertation focuses on the problem of cyberterrorism, perceived as a new threat for national security. The thesis consists of three chapters. The first one refers to theoretical issues, such as a definition of cyberterrorism. In the second chapter, the author describes the types of attacks known in theory, as well as those that have been recorded in history and had an influence on the modern understanding of cyberterrorism. Additionally, a part of the dissertation is dedicated to Internet activism, represented by Anonymous. The last, third chapter presents the actions taken by the Polish government and the Strategy of Cyber Security of the Republic of Poland. The thesis also addresses the issue of 2012 ACTA ratification, which not only affected Poland's IT security, but also relations with the society.
