The influence of culture on the development of the region, based on the examples of Podhale and Orava

Celem niniejszej pracy jest wykazanie wpływu kultury na rozwój regionu na przykładzie Orawy oraz Podhala. Na podstawie przeprowadzonego badania i zastosowanego narzędzia badawczego takiego jak ankieta, respondenci wskazali na ogromne walory dziedzictwa kulturowego Oraw i Podhala. O charakterze lokalnym tych terenów i ich dorobku kulturowym decydują stroje ludowe, gwara czy też architektura, dlatego rozwój kulturowy ma również wpływ na rozwój regionu. Wspomniane stroje ludowe cechują się niezwykłą misternością wykonania, a gwara utrwaliła się na stałe i może być podziwiana nie tylko w słowniku gwary lokalnej, ale także na żywo obcując z góralami i poznając ich obyczaje, tradycje i obrzędy. W pracy badawczej zauważono, że osoby zamieszkujące omawiane tereny to społeczność, która szanuje i ceni sobie piękne, naturalne krajobrazy. Praca została podzielona na część analityczną i teoretyczną. Szeroki aspekt opisowy niniejszej pracy pokazuje, że miasto Zakopane oraz Gmina Lipnica Wielka dokładają starań aby promować swoje regiony poprzez różnego rodzaju programy ukazujące ich piękno i kulturę. Istniejące zespoły regionalne promują piosenki i stroje góralskie podczas ważnych uroczystości lokalnych. Współpraca odbywa się również za pomocą promowania regionu za granicą i rozsławiania dorobku kulturowego, bo region Orawy i Podhala mają ogromne znaczenie dla turystyki krajowej, ale stopniowo również wzrasta znaczenie tych regionów na szczeblu międzynarodowym.Słowa Kluczowe

The present research investigates the relationship between the culture and regional development, based on examples of the regions of Podhale and Orava. According to a recent study conducted by means of survey, respondents pointed out the tremendeous values of the culture heritage of Orava and Podhale. The folk costumes, dialect as well as architecture express the local character of these areas and their cultural achievements. Therefore, the culture impacts on the regional development. The aforementioned folk costumes are marked by an extraordinary intricacy and accuracy. In terms of the dialect, it has been anchored pernamently and we can admire it not only in the dictionary of the local dialect, but also by talking with local residents and learning about their customs, traditions and rituals. The purpose of this study is to advance understanding of residents of Orava and Podhale and perceive them as a community that respects and admires breathtaking, natural landscapes. The research has been divided into two parts – analytical and theoretical. This study is concerned with the fact that the city of Zakopane and the community of Lipnica Wielka make every effort to promote their heritage through various programs showing its beauty and and culture. The regional bands promote folk costumes and songs as well during important local celebrations. Promotion of the region abroad and exaltation of cultural heritage take precedence over everything, because the regions of Orava as well as Podhale are of utmost importance for domestic tourism. However, the importance of these regions on the international level increases gradually.Keywords
