Characteristics and functioning of the penitentiary system in the United States of America North

Niniejsza praca przedstawia charakterystykę i funkcjonowanie sytemu penitencjarnego Stanów Zjednoczonych Ameryki Północnej oraz opisuje wybrane płaszczyzny jego funkcjonowania. Praca składa się z trzech rozdziałów. W rozdziale pierwszym przedstawiona została historia więziennictwa w Stanach Zjednoczonych Ameryki Północnej ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem początków więziennictwa oraz systemu więziennictwa współczesnego.W rozdziale drugim zaprezentowano system penitencjarny Stanów Zjednoczonych Ameryki Północnej z uwzględnieniem więzień federalnych, stanowych i prywatnych.Natomiast rozdział trzeci został poświęcony charakterystyce wybranych obszarów funkcjonowania amerykańskiego systemu penitencjarnego. Przedstawiono tutaj charakterystykę więźniów i ich liczbę, prześladowania i śmiertelność w więzieniach, karę śmierci oraz zwolnienie warunkowe.Pracę wieńczy zakończenie oraz zestawienie wykorzystanych źródeł.

In this work is showing characteristics and functioning satiated penitentiary of the United States of America and is describing chosen plains of his functioning. The work consists of three chapters.In the first chapter a history of the prison system was presented in the United States of North America with particular reference to beginnings of the prison system and the contemporary prison system.In the chapter two a penitentiary system of the United States of America was presented including, state and private federal penitentiaries.Moreowever the chapter three was devoted to characteristics of chosen areas and functioning of the American penitentiary system. Chapter contains, characteristics of prisoners and their number, persecution and the mortality were described in imprisonments, the capital punishment and the parole.
