Frenzy, prophecy, oneirism based on Juliusz Słowacki's "Salomea's Dilver Dream"

Celem niniejszej pracy jest próba interpretacji „Snu srebrnego Salomei” Juliusza Słowackiego pod kątem kategorii frenezji, profetyzmu i oniryzmu. Refleksja nad tymi pojęciami dąży do uchwycenia mistycznego charakteru dzieła polskiego wieszcza. Punktem wyjścia wywodu dotyczącego romansu dramatycznego są rozważania na temat mistycyzmu obecnego w późnej fazie twórczości autora „Genezis z Ducha” oraz obrazu historycznej Ukrainy „Snu srebrnego Salomei” na tle dorobku literackiego innych twórców doby romantyzmu. Poświęcenie uwagi powyższym kwestiom umożliwia pogłębioną interpretację dzieła. W drugim rozdziale Autor zajmuje się analizą frenetycznych scen utworu. W trzeciej części pracy w centrum zainteresowania znajduje się postać Wernyhory oraz profetyczny wymiar dramatu. W czwartym rozdziale analizie zostały poddane poszczególne sny bohaterów pisma, a także panujący w nim ogólny światopogląd na temat śnienia. W rozważaniach zostali przywołani tacy badacze, jak m.in Alina Kowalczykowa, Maria Janion, Magdalena Piasecka, Magdalena Siwiec, German Ritz, czy Bogusław Dopart.

The purpose of this paper is to attempt to interpret Juliusz Słowacki's "Salomea’s Silver Dream" in terms of the categories of prophecy, frenzy and oneirism. Reflection on these concepts seeks to capture the mystical character of the work of the Polish bard. The starting point of the argument on dramatic romance is the consideration of mysticism present in the late works of the author of "Genesis from the Spirit" and the image of the historical Ukraine of "Salomea’s Silver Dream" against the background of the literary output of other authors of the Romantic era. Devoting attention to the above issues allows an in-depth interpretation of the work. In the second chapter, the author deals with the analysis of the phrenetic scenes of the work. In the third part of the work, the focus is on the character of Vernyhora and the prophetic dimension of the drama. In the fourth chapter, the individual dreams of the characters in the writing are analyzed, as well as the prevailing general worldview of dreaming. Such scholars as Alina Kowalczykowa, Maria Janion, Magdalena Piasecka, Magdalena Siwiec, German Ritz, and Boguslaw Dopart, among others, are cited in the discussion.
