"Linguistic means of belittling an opponent on the example of journalistic texts by Petko Rachev Slaveykov"

Głównym celem pracy jest próba określenia zakresu zjawiska deprecjacji w tekście, odnalezienia jego detektorów na podstawie porównania dotychczasowych opracowań na ten temat oraz przedstawienie jego płaszczyzny prawnej i aksjologicznej, aby w konsekwencji dokonać identyfikacji i systematyzacji środków, za pomocą których zjawisko to się realizuje wraz z egzemplifikacją zaczerpniętą z materiału badawczego, jakim są teksty publicystyczne autorstwa Petka Racheva Slaveykova.Praca składa się z czterech rozdziałów:Pierwszy z nich poświęcam wstępnej lokalizacji przedmiotu badań pośród uniwersum językowego; przedstawiam cel, który chcę osiągnąć za pomocą analizy i sposób jej przeprowadzania; prezentuję materiał źródłowy.W rozdziale drugim zajmuję się wykrywaniem deprecjacji w jednostkach tekstu na podstawie analizy typów wypowiedzi, w których może występować. Uważam to zagadnienie za złożone i interesujące, dlatego poświęcam mu sporo miejsca. Analizując dotychczasowe opracowania i różne ujęcia tego problemu, przedstawiam własną propozycję jego rozwiązania.Trzeci rozdział jest docelową klasyfikacją zjawiska (której punktem wyjścia jest autonomia lub jej brak w stosowaniu wyszczególnionych elementów) zilustrowaną przykładami z analizowanego tekstu wraz z tłumaczeniami, w której opisuję mechanizmy działania poszczególnych środków. Poprzedzam go przeglądem metod systematyzacji, które zostały zaproponowane do uporządkowania strategii językowych, usytuowanych w pobliżu interesującego mnie zagadnienia deprecjacji.W czwartym rozdziale zwracam się ku źródłom erystyki, zestawiając pierwotną ideę z współczesną jej formą. Na koniec formułuję perspektywy badawcze, jakie pozostają niezrealizowane w tym obszarze językoznawstwa.

The main purpose of this dissertation is to define the scope and diversity of the phenomenon of belittlement in writing, to find its detectors through a comparison of existing studies on the subject, and to present the legal and axiological aspects of the phenomenon; consequently, this will allow for an identification and systematization of the means through which the phenomenon occurs, including relevant examples taken from the research material, which is journalistic writing by Petko Rachev Slaveykov.The dissertation consists of four chapters:The first chapter is devoted to preliminary localization of the object of research in the linguistic universe. I present the goal that I want to achieve through an analysis and the methods that will be employed; I present the source material.In chapter two I try to detect the phenomenon of belittlement in text units, based on an analysis of the types of expression, in which the said phenomenon can occur. I consider this to be a highly complex and interesting issue, therefore it comprises a significant part of the chapter. Analyzing existing studies and different approaches to the problem, I present my own suggestion as to how it can be resolved. Chapter three contains the target classification of the phenomenon (a classification whose starting point is autonomy in using selected items, or lack thereof), illustrated with examples taken from the analyzed texts and their translations; in the said classification, I describe the mechanisms through which the individual means work. This is preceded by an overview of the methods that have been suggested to systematize linguistic strategies associated with my topic of interest, which is the phenomenon of belittlement.In chapter four I address the sources of eristic, juxtaposing the original concept with its contemporary form. I conclude by presenting the areas of research which have yet to be explored in this aspect of linguistics.
