Praca opisuje ceremonię pochówku w starożytnym Egipcie. Zostanie udowodniona teza, że pochówek był ściśle związany z wierzeniami Egipcjan oraz stanowił bardzo ważny element życia codziennego. Strach przed śmiercią, na którą nie ma się żadnego wpływu oraz różne wierzenia doprowadziły do powstania obrzędów mających na celu zapewnienie zmarłym wiecznego życia, odrodzenia i uchronienia ich przed gniewem różnych bogów. Egipcjanie wierzyli w życie wieczne, więc szukali sposobów na zachowanie ciała a wraz z nim nieśmiertelności. Autorka w swojej pracy opisuje proces mumifikacji, przebieg pogrzeb i wyposażenie grobowców.

The article describes the burial ceremony in the ancient Egypt. A thesis will be proven, that the burial was closely connected with beliefs of the Egyptians and was an important part of the daily life. The fear of death, which no one has influence on, and various beliefs had lead to creation of rituals, which had a task to provide the dead with eternal life, rebirth and protection from anger of different gods. The Egyptians believed in eternal live, so they sought ways to preserve the body, and together with it, immortality. In her work the author describes the process of mummification, the proceeding of the funeral and equipment of the tombs. She describes also what where gifts placed in the graves used for.
