Framework conditions and educational aims in the field of specialized communication in the Germanic studies

Framework conditions and educational aims in the field of specialised communication in the Germanic studies The objective of specialised communication whose participants seek to reach agreement with regard to the specialised part of the message is a transfer of specialised knowledge. As education in the field of specialised communication outside the framework marked by the knowledge of a given specialisation cannot fulfil this aim, a point of departure for acquiring a certain competence in this area, limited by potential future mono- and bilingual professional roles (translator, teacher for LSP, technical writer, proofreader), is constituted by the specialised knowledge acquired in the course of the Germanic studies. The educational aims set by this framework cover primarily the ability to recognise and apply linguistic indicators of specialised texts and the reconstruction of the structure of the fragment of knowledge represented in concrete texts.
