Wstęp Dyskopatia lędźwiowa jest jedną z najczęstszych przyczyn bólu kręgosłupa. Wiodący, chroniczny, dyskomfort spowodowany bólem w jego obrębie, stał się obecnie powszechnym problemem, który prowadzi do obniżenia jakości życia, upośledzenia sprawności fizycznej oraz ma swój negatywny wpływ na życie społeczne, zawodowe i towarzyskie chorych. Cel pracy Celem niniejszej pracy jest przedstawienie problemów zdrowotnych oraz zakresu opieki nad pacjentką z dyskopatią lędźwiową.WynikiW pracy opisano historię choroby pacjentki z rozpoznaną dyskopatią lędźwiową kręgosłupa, przebywającej w środowisku domowym. Głównym problemem zdrowotnym pacjentki był oporny na środki farmakologiczne ból, z towarzyszącymi epizodami znacznego nasilania się jego natężenia, trudność w poruszaniu się oraz problemy psychiczne. U chorej początkowo prowadzono leczenie objawowe, opierające się głównie na przeciwbólowej i obniżającej napięcie mięśniowe farmakoterapii. Z czasem polepszający się stan pacjentki obligował do wdrożenia systematycznej, usprawniającej rehabilitacji. Chora wymagała zindywidualizowanej, holistycznej opieki, której nieodłączną częścią była empatia, obecność oraz gotowość i chęć niesienia pomocy.

IntroductionRachialgia is frequently caused by the lumbar discopathy. A chronic discomfort, which is caused by the pain in the spine, has become a common problem nowadays. It leads to a deterioration in the quality of life and physical impairment. Furthermore, it involves negative influence on social and working life. AimThis thesis has two primary aims. First, to present health problems, the process of treatment and rehabilitation of a patient with spinal disc herniation.ResultsThe research method used in this thesis was a case study. This thesis contains a description of medical history of a patient suffering from spinal disc herniation with aggravation of the disease due to the appearance of sciatica. The patient’s main conditions during residential care and nursing were: resistance to pain medication with the presence of episodic, considerable severe pain, limited mobility and mental disorders. Initially the patient were given symptomic treatment, mainly based on anodyne and reducing muscular pressure pharmacotherapy and limited physical activity. With given time, improving patient’s condition obliged to implement systematic, modifying rehabilitation. Their effectiveness was summarised with the results. The patient’s main conditions during residential care and nursing were: resistance to pain medication with the presence of episodic, considerable severe pain, limited mobility and mental disorders.
The patient requires individualised and holistic healthcare, which involves crucial elements such as empathy, attendance and willingness to help her.
