Praca licencjacka „Profilowanie kryminalne - problematyka zjawiska oraz rola Johna E. Douglasa w jego stworzeniu i popularyzacji.” traktuje o procesie śledczym, którym jest profilowanie kryminalne. Proces ten polega na stworzeniu profilu potencjalnego sprawcy dokonanej zbrodni na podstawie analizy dowodów zebranych przez funkcjonariuszy policyjnych oraz wykorzystania istniejących typologii dotyczących psychiki morderców. Profilowanie zostało szczególnie nagłośnione i rozpowszechnione, dzięki wkładowi agenta FBI – Johna E. Douglasa. Praca ma na celu przedstawienie mechanizmów wpływających na kształtowanie się amerykańskiego profilowania od czasu zaangażowania się Douglasa w drugiej połowie XX wieku w tę tematykę, aż po czasy współczesne i jej spopularyzowanie. Ukazane zostaną również wątki, wskazujące na to, że tworzenie całkiem nowego sposobu identyfikacji podejrzanych napotykało wiele utrudnień i słów krytyki. Mimo to, proces profilowania osiągnął sukces w oddziałach służb bezpieczeństwa i dotarł do mediów społecznościowych.

Bachelor's thesis “Criminal profiling - the problems of the phenomenon and the role of John E. Douglas in its creation and popularization.” focuses on the investigative process of criminal profiling. This process involves creating a profile of a potential perpetrator of a crime on the basis of an analysis of evidence gathered by police officers and the use of existing typologies concerning the mentality of murderers. Profiling has been particularly publicised and popularised, through the contribution of FBI agent John E. Douglas. This work aims to present the mechanisms that have shaped American profiling from the profiler's involvement in the second half of the 20th century to the present day and its popularization. It will also show the threads indicating that the creation of a completely new way of identifying suspects was met with many difficulties and criticisms. Despite this, the profiling process has achieved success in the branches of the security services and has spread to social media.
