Praca magisterska pt. Malarstwo ścienne okresu hellenistyczno-rzymskiego w Nea Pafos, z uwzględnieniem materiałów z badań Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego, na Agorze. Przedstawia ewolucję sztuki malarskiej w Pafos od czasów hellenistycznych po okres rzymski, koncentrując się na zachowanych fragmentach dekoracji odkrytych na różnego rodzaju stanowiskach archeologicznych: grobowcach, willach i w budynkach publicznych. Analiza wpływów aleksandryjskich i macedońskich na lokalną sztukę oraz absorpcji rzymskich stylów malarskich ukazuje dynamiczny rozwój artystyczny regionu. Zachowane freski z grobowców, oferują cenne informacje o motywach związanych codziennym życiem. Malowidła z willi rzymskich, w tym szczególnie dekoracje z Domu Aiona, ukazują wysublimowany styl oraz wyjątkową jakość wykonania, a odkrycia z Teatru w Pafos ukazują zmieniające się trendy stylistyczne na przestrzeni wieków. Opracowanie dekoracji z Agory ujawnia fragmentaryczne, ale cenne dane o kolorystyce i technikach malarskich, wskazując na zmiany trendów w zakresie dekoracji od okresu hellenistycznego do okresu rzymskiego. Praca podkreśla wpływy szerokiego kręgu kulturowego na lokalne malarstwo oraz wskazuje na potrzebę dalszych badań chemicznych i petrograficznych dla pełniejszego zrozumienia użytych materiałów i technik. Rezultaty badań ilustrują, jak sztuka malarska w Pafos odzwierciedlała zarówno lokalne tradycje, jak i szerokie wpływy kulturowe i artystyczne z basenu Morza Śródziemnego.

The master’s thesis titled "Wall Paintings of the Hellenistic-Roman Period in Nea Pafos, Including Materials from the Jagiellonian University Excavations at the Agora" examines the evolution of mural art in Paphos from the Hellenistic to the Roman periods, focusing on preserved fragments of decoration discovered at various archaeological sites, including tombs, villas, and public buildings. The analysis of Alexandrian and Macedonian influences on local art, as well as, the assimilation of Roman painting styles, reveals the dynamic artistic development of the region. The preserved frescoes from the tombs provide valuable insights into motifs related to everyday life. Wall paintings from Roman villas, particularly the decorations from the House of Aion, demonstrate a refined style and exceptional quality of execution, while discoveries from the Theatre of Paphos illustrate changing stylistic trends over the centuries. The study of decorations from the Agora reveals fragmentary but valuable data on colour schemes and painting techniques, highlighting shifts in decorative trends from the Hellenistic to the Roman period. The thesis emphasizes the impact of a broad cultural milieu on local painting and points to the need for further chemical and petrological analyses to gain a fuller understanding of the materials and techniques used. The findings illustrate how mural art in Paphos reflected both local traditions and broader cultural and artistic influences from the Mediterranean Sea.
