Sexuality education in Poland - a comparison of the core curriculum of the Family Life Education classes and guidelines of the Sex Education Standards in Europe

Edukacja seksualna temat szeroko komentowany oraz kontrowersyjny. W 2010 roku opublikowano Standardy Edukacji Seksualnej w Europie autorstwa World Health Organization oraz Federalnego Biura ds. Edukacji Zdrowotnej w Kolonii. Natomiast Wychowanie do życia w rodzinie to zajęcia prowadzone w polskiej szkole od lat 90. Praca swoim zakresem obejmuje omówienie teoretyczne zagadnień związanych z tematem edukacji seksualnej. Następnie dochodzi do porównywania Standardów Edukacji seksualnej w Europie z podstawą programową zajęć Wychowania do życia w rodzinie. Głównym celem pracy było porównanie tych dwóch dokumentów oraz określenie ich podobieństwa. W końcowej fazie pracy przeanalizowane zostały badania, których celem było sprawdzenie poziomu satysfakcji ze stanu wiedzy o edukacji seksualnej respondentów, którzy zakończyli swoją edukację.

Sex education is a widely discussed and controversial topic. In 2010, the Standards for Sex Education in Europe by the World Health Organization and the Federal Office for Health Education in Cologne were published. On the other hand, Family Life Education is a class conducted in Polish schools since the 90s. The scope of the work includes theoretical discussion of issues related to the topic of sex education. It then goes on to compare the Standards of Sex Education in Europe with the core curriculum of Family Life Education classes. The main purpose of this paper was to compare the two documents and determine their similarity. In the final phase of the study, a survey was analyzed to examine the level of satisfaction with the state of knowledge about sex education of respondents who had completed their education.
