The symbolism of the flute in the selected musical works form the 18th and 19th centuries

Niniejsza praca porusza tematykę symboliki fletu w wybranych działach z XVIII i XIX wieku. W tym celu przestudiowano literaturę oraz zostało poddanych analizie 11 wybranych dzieł, w których wnikliwie przeanalizowano partię fletu oraz jego znaczenie w danym utworze. Dzięki temu uzyskano wyniki analiz oraz wyciągnięto wnioski. Praca składa się z dwóch części. Pierwsza, poprzedzona wstępem, jest analizą literatury dotyczącej fletu – jego rozwoju na przestrzeni wieków, wykorzystaniu w różnych kulturach oraz analiza współczesnego instrumentu i jego możliwości. Druga część zaś jest analizą wybranych utworów z XVIII i XIX wieku, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem partii fletu. Zostały również zaproponowane interpretacje symboliczne danych fragmentów. Całą pracę zamyka podsumowanie w formie tabeli, w której zostały ujęte fragmenty z danych dzieł muzycznych, które zostały poddane analizie na potrzeby niniejszej pracy.

The present work deals with the subject of the symbolism of the flute in selected pieces from the 18th and 19th centuries. For this purpose, the literature was studied and 11 selected works were analyzed, in which the part of the flute and its meaning in the given work were thoroughly analyzed. As a result, the results of the analysis were obtained and conclusions were drawn. The work consists of two parts. The first, preceded by an introduction, is an analysis of the literature on the flute - its development over the centuries, its use in various cultures, and an analysis of the modern instrument and its possibilities. The second part, on the other hand, is an analysis of selected works from the 18th and 19th centuries, with a special focus on the flute part. Symbolic interpretations of the passages in question are also offered. The entire work closes with a summary in the form of a table, which includes excerpts from the given musical works, which were analyzed for the purpose of this work.
