Geopolitical conditions of Poland's security after 1989

Praca skupia się na analizie uwarunkowań geopolitycznych Polski po 1989 roku. Celem autora pracy jest pokazanie roli jaką odgrywa Polska w kontekście rywalizacji instytucji zachodnich (NATO, UE) z Federacją Rosyjską. Autor dodatkowo analizuje rosnący wpływ Chin w regionie Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej i zestawia to z kwestiami bezpieczeństwa Polski. Autor w pierwszym rozdziale opisuje różne ujęcia w definiowaniu geopolityki, a także przedstawia różne teorie. W dalszej kolejności autor skupia się na charakterystyce położenia Polski w Europie, a także opisuje wpływ przynależności do NATO i Unii Europejskiej w kontekście bezpieczeństwa wewnętrznego i zewnętrznego kraju. W kolejnym rozdziale autor koncentruje się na analizie wschodniego aspektu bezpieczeństwa Polski, szczególnie w kontekście stosunków z Ukrainą oraz Federacją Rosyjską. Ostatni rozdział przedstawia wybrane dylematy bezpieczeństwa Polski, bezpieczeństwo energetyczne, a także wpływ i rolę Sił Zbrojnych RP w kształtowaniu bezpieczeństwa w regionie Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej.

The master’s thesis focuses on the analysis of Poland's geopolitical conditions after 1989. The author of the work aims to show what role Poland plays in the context of the rivalry between Western institutions (NATO, EU) and the Russian Federation. The author additionally analyzes the growing influence of China in the Central and Eastern European region and juxtaposes this with Poland's security issues. In the first chapter, the author describes various approaches in defining geopolitics, and presents various theories. Next, the author focuses on the characteristics of Poland's location in Europe, and describes the impact of NATO and European Union membership in the context of the country's internal and external security. In the next chapter, the author focuses on analyzing the eastern aspect of Poland's security, particularly in the context of relations with Ukraine and the Russian Federation. The last chapter presents selected dilemmas of Polish security, energy security, as well as the influence and role of the Polish Armed Forces in shaping security in the Central and Eastern European region.
