The protection of the collective interests of consumers in Poland and the European Union

Praca magisterska została poświęcona ochronie konsumenta w oparciu o systemy prawne Polski i Unii Europejskiej. Rozwój gospodarki rynkowej w Polsce oraz globalizacja w dziedzinie wymian towarów czy usług wymogły na organach legislacyjnych rozszerzenie regulacji prawnych odpowiedzialnych za ochronę konsumentów. Zbiorowe interesy konsumentów chronione są wieloma regulacjami obecnie obowiązującymi w Polsce i Unii Europejskiej, dlatego w pierwszej kolejności przedstawiłem i omówiłem najważniejsze z nich. Następnie poddałem analizie działalność organów (m.in Komisja Europejska, Urząd Ochrony Konkurencji i Konsumentów) odpowiedzialnych za ochronę konsumentów pod kątem ich kompetencji i obowiązków. Analizując temat, w dużym stopniu korzystałem z orzeczeń polskich sądów powszechnych, Trybunału Sprawiedliwości Unii Europejskiej czy Urzędu Ochrony Konkurencji i Konsumentów.

Master's thesis was devoted to consumer protection in the legal systems of Polish and the European Union. The development of market economy in Poland and globalization in the field of exchange of products or services exorted from the legislators to create new legal provisions, which will be helpful for the protection of consumers. The collective interests of consumers are protected by a number of regulations currently in force in Poland and the European Union, so firstly I have presented and discussed about the most important of them. Then I have analyzed the activity of the authorities (European Commission, Office of Competition and Consumer Protection) responsible for consumer protection on the basis of judicial decisions. Analyzing the topic, I used the judgments of Polish courts of law, the Court of Justice of the European Union or the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection.
