Spanish in contact with Maya in the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico: two cases of possible phonectic interference.

Kontakt pomiędzy dwoma językami może sprzyjać różnego rodzaju wpływom jednego języka na drugi. Pojawienie się interferencji językowych jest uzależnione od rozmaitych czynników wewnętrznych i zewnętrznych. Wielokrotnie trudno jest określić, czy dane zjawisko językowe pojawiło się w języku ze względu na kontakt z innym systemem. W trakcie podboju Ameryki język hiszpański wszedł w kontakt z wieloma autochtonicznymi systemami językowymi. Hiszpański używany na półwyspie Jukatan w Meksyku znajduje się w kontakcie z językiem maya, który prawdopodobnie wpłynął na pojawienie się niektórych zjawisk fonetycznych w hiszpańskim tego regionu. Celem tej pracy była analiza dwóch przypadków możliwej interferencji fonetycznej z języka maja w hiszpańskim jukateckim, ukazanie czynników, które wpływają na kontakt pomiędzy tymi językami oraz określenie czy analizowane zjawiska wciąż zachowują żywotność w hiszpańskim używanym na Jukatanie.

The contact between two languages can cause different types of mutual influence. The emergence of linguistic interferences is conditioned by diverse internal and external factors. Frequently it is difficult to determine if the appearance of a certain linguistic phenomenon in one language has been caused by the contact with another system. After the conquest of the Americas, Spanish entered in contact with diverse indigenous linguistic systems. The Spanish spoken in the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico has been in contact with Maya which possibly influenced the emergence of some phonetic phenomenons in the Spanish of that region. The aim of this study was to analyze two cases of possible phonetic interference of Maya in the Yucatec Spanish, to show the factors that interfere in the contact between these languagues and to determine if the studied phenomenons still mantain their vitality in the Spanish used in Yucatan.

El contacto entre dos lenguas puede dar lugar a diferentes tipos de influencias mutuas. El surgimiento de las interferencias lingüísticas está condicionado por diversos factores internos y externos. Muchas veces es difícil determinar si la aparición de un determinado fenómeno lingüístico en un idioma ha sido causada por el contacto con otra lengua. Tras la conquista de América el español entró en contacto con diversos sistemas lingüísticos autóctonos. El español hablado en la península de Yucatán en México ha estado en contacto con la lengua maya, la cual posiblemente influyó en el surgimiento de algunos fenómenos fonéticos en el español de aquella región. El objetivo de este estudio ha sido analizar dos casos de posibles interferencias fonéticas del maya en el español yucateco, mostrar los factores que interfieren en el contacto entre estas lenguas y determinar si los fenómenos estudiados siguen teniendo vitalidad en el español actual hablado en Yucatán.
