Care of the patient with Graves-Basedow disease.

Wstęp. Choroba Gravesa i Basedowa jest chorobą autoimmunologiczną, oraz główną przyczyną nadczynności tarczycy. Zachorowalność na chorobę przede wszystkim obserwujemy u kobiet między 30 a 50 rokiem życia. Etiopatogeneza nie jest do końca poznana. Celem pracy było przedstawienie problemów zdrowotnych oraz pielęgnacyjnych pacjentki z chorobą Gravesa i Basedowa. W oparciu o teorię pielęgnowania według Dorothei Orem utworzono diagnozy pielęgniarskie, określono cel oraz przedstawiono plan opieki wykorzystany podczas spotkań środowiskowych z pacjentką. Metodą badawczą wykorzystaną w pracy było studium indywidualnego przypadku. Wykorzystano techniki takie jak wywiad pielęgniarski, obserwacja pacjentki oraz analizowanie dokumentacji medycznej.U pacjentki zaobserwowano i zaprezentowane aktualne problemy zdrowotne. Na podstawie stanu chorobowego oraz objawów występujących u pacjentki przygotowano 7 diagnoz pielęgniarskich wraz z celem, proponowanym planem opieki oraz oceną działań. Choroba Gravesa i Basedowa wpływa negatywnie na wiele układów. Może nieść to za sobą ryzyko powikłań na wielu płaszczyznach. Główną oraz kluczową rolą pielęgniarki w opiece nad pacjentem z tą konkretną chorobą autoimmunologiczną jest przede wszystkim edukacja pacjenta na temat zachowań prozdrowotnych, edukacja na temat powikłań oraz rozpoznania ich w środowisku domowym, a także wsparcie psychiczne oraz emocjonalne.

Introduction. Graves-Basedow disease is an autoimmune disease, and a major cause of hyperthyroidism. The incidence of the disease is primarily seen in women between 30 and 50 years of age. The aetiopathogenesis is not fully understood. The aim of this study was to present the health and nursing problems of a patient with Graves-Basedow disease. Based on the nursing theory according to Dorothea Orem, nursing diagnoses were created, a goal was defined and a care plan used during community meetings with the patient was presented. The research method used in this study was the individual case study. Techniques such as nursing interview, observation of the patient and analysis of medical records were used.The patient's current health problems were observed and presented. Based on the patient's medical condition and symptoms, 7 nursing diagnoses were prepared with a goal, a proposed plan of care and an evaluation of activities. Graves-Basedow disease adversely affects multiple systems. It may carry the risk of complications on many levels. The main and key role of the nurse in the care of a patient with this particular autoimmune disease is primarily to educate the patient on health-promoting behaviours, to educate them on complications and how to recognise them in the home environment, and to provide psychological and emotional support.
