Głównym tematem pracy jest interpretacja wybranych dzieł Paula Thomasa Andersona przez pryzmat teorii Carla Gustava Junga w zakresie archetypów i procesu indywiduacji. Praca składa się z trzech rozdziałów. Pierwszy z nich streszcza najważniejsze zagadnienia związane z psychologią analityczną C.G Junga: nieświadomość zbiorową, proces indywiduacji oraz archetypy. W drugim opisane jest życie i twórczość Paula Thomasa Andersona. W trzeciej, najbardziej rozbudowanej, analitycznej części znajdują się autorskie interpretacje pięciu filmów reżysera: ,,Lewy Sercowy", ,,Mistrz", ,,Aż poleje się krew", ,,Nić Widmo" i ,,Licorice Pizza". Celem pracy jest wykazanie, że teorie C.G Junga, w szczególności koncepcje archetypów i procesu indywiduacji, stanowią klucz interpretacyjny, który pozwala na głębsze zrozumienie i analizę twórczości Paula Thomasa Andersona. Odczytując jego filmy w duchu psychologii analitycznej, można postrzegać je jako współczesne narracje o psychologicznej podróży człowieka.

The main subject of the thesis is the interpretation of selected works by Paul Thomas Anderson through the lens of Carl Gustav Jung's theories - specifically the archetypes and the process of individuation. The thesis consists of three chapters. The first summarizes key concepts of C.G Jung's analytical psychology: collective unconscious, the process of individuation and archetypes. The second chapter describes the life and works of Paul Thomas Anderson. The third, analytical and the most extensive chapter contains original interpretations of five of the director's films: ,,Punch-Drunk Love", ,,The Master", ,,There WIll be Blood", ,,Phantom Thread" and ,,Licorice Pizza". The goal of the thesis is to demonstrate that C.G Jung's theories, particularly the concepts of archetypes and the process of individuation, serve as a tool that allows for a deeper understanding and analysis of the works of Paul Thomas Anderson. Interpreting his films through the lens of analytical psychology allows them to be seen as contemporary narratives of the psychological journey of an individual.
