Consequences of Poland's accession to the European Union

Konsekwencje przystąpienia Polski do UE okazały się zdecydowanie bardziej pozytywne niż negatywne. Okupione były jednak wieloma wysiłkami. O ile myśl o członkostwie nabrała siły z końcem 1989 roku, o tyle oficjalne uznanie polskiego członkostwa nastąpiło dopiero 1 maja 2004 roku. Członkostwo otwarło furtkę do unijnych funduszy, które dały szanse na realizację wielu celów, przyczyniając się do ogólnego rozwoju polskiej gospodarki. W następstwie członkostwa dają się odczuć przede wszystkim pozytywne skutki. Niebagatelne znaczenie dla Polski miał rozwój rolnictwa, które po transformacji przeżywało kryzys oraz otwarcie granic i dostęp do jednolitego rynku, które przyczyniły się do znacznego zwiększenia obrotów handlowych, możliwości podejmowania pracy, zakładania firmy i kształcenia za granicą a także pozwoliły na napływ inwestycji, stwarzając możliwość zatrudnienia i ograniczając bezrobocie w kraju. Polska doświadczona wojnami i okresem socjalizmu poprzez przynależność do Unii zyskała poczucie bezpieczeństwa i ochrony przed zagrożeniami.

The consequences of Poland's accession to the EU turned out to be much more positive than negative. They were, however, bought by many efforts. While the idea of membership gained strength at the end of 1989, Polish membership was officially recognized only on May 1, 2004. Membership opened the door to EU funds, which gave a chance to achieve many goals, contributing to the overall development of the Polish economy. As a result of membership, positive effects can be felt above all. The development of agriculture was of great importance for Poland, which after the transformation underwent a crisis and the opening of borders and access to the single market, which contributed to a significant increase in trade turnover, employment opportunities, setting up a business and education abroad, and also allowed the inflow of investments, creating the possibility of employment and reducing unemployment in the country. Poland, experiencing wars and the period of socialism, gained a sense of security and protection against threats through membership of the Union.
