Rola USA w kształtowaniu sił zbrojnych Japonii i Republiki Korei

Od zakończenia II wojny światowej Stany Zjednoczone są zaangażowane w bezpieczeństwo regionalne w Azji Wschodniej, szczegól nie za sprawą Japonii i Republiki Korei. Aby dostosować je do wrogiego środowiska bezpieczeństwa, Stany Zjednoczone wzięły na siebie kształtowanie armii tych państw. Na dzień dzisiejszy zarówno Japońskie Siły Samoobrony, jak i Siły Zbrojne Republiki Korei stanowią dwie silne armie. W mojej rozprawie najpierw przedstawiam teoretyczne ramy amerykańskiego podejścia do budowania armii w Japonii i Korei Północnej. W drugim rozdziale analizuję historyczną ewolucję amerykańskich metod ulepszania i modyfikowania JSDF i Sił Zbrojnych Republiki Korei, zwracając szczególną uwagę na na klwczowe wydarzenia. W ostatnim rozdziale analizuję współczesne podejście USA do współpracy w dziedzinie bezpieczeństwa narodowego i regionalnego z Japonią i Koreą Południową.

Since the end of the Second World War, the United States has been involved in regional security in East Asia, particularly through its two main allies: Japan and the Republic of Korea. After the Second World War, the former had to be rebuilt, and the latter was just born. In order to suit them both to the hostile security environment, the US took it upon itself to shape the armies of these states. As of today, both the Japanese Self Defence Force and the Republic of Korea Armed Forces stand strong as two of the most capable armies and most loyal allies of the US. My thesis will firstly provide the theoretical framework for the US approaches to army-building in Japan and the ROK. In the second chapter, I will examine the historic evolution of the US methods to improve and modify the JSDF and the ROK Armed Forces, giving special attention to the most formative events. In the final chapter, I will examine the contemporary approach of the US to cooperation in the field of national and regional security with Japan and South Korea. Additionally, I will compare them and elaborate on which one is more cohesive in the current environment.
