D. S. Merezhkovsky's concept of culture

Celem niniejszej pracy jest analiza koncepcji kultury D.S. Mereżkowskiego i określenie jej źródeł religijno-filozoficznych. W pracy koncentruję się na analizie ewolucji ideowej rosyjskiego myśliciela, która postępowała wraz z powstawaniem jego kolejnych dzieł. Należy wyjaśnić kluczowe pojęcie "kultury", charakterystyczne dla idei Meżkowskiego, które było kreowane w oparciu o analizę zależności pomiędzy kulturą i cywilizacją, kulturą i religią, oraz kulturą i rewolucją. Powyżej wymienione zależności miały znaczący wpływ na kształtowanie się wizji pisarza, dotyczącej przyszłości Rosji i Europy, a także losów całej ludzkości.

The aim of the bachelor's thesis is the analysis of the idea of culture by Merezhkovsky and the description of its phylosophical and religious sources. The study concentrates on the evolution of thoughts of the writer which developed together with his other works. It needs to be explained what the author means by the term "culture" and why it played such a crucial role in the problems he analyses. Merezhkovsky's idea of culture was created based on the analysis of the relationship between culture and civilisation, culture and religion and culture and revolution. All the above mentioned had a great influence on creating his vision of the future and destiny of Russia and Europe, but also the fate of mankind.
