Republican system of Novgorod the Great

Praca traktuje o republikańskim ustroju Nowogrodu Wielkiego. W rozdziale pierwszym pokrótce przedstawiona została historia Nowogrodu Wielkiego, szczególną uwagę poświęcono polityce zagranicznej północno-ruskiej Republiki. W rozdziale drugim omówiono ewolucję refleksji republikańskiej próbując znaleźć elementy wspólne różnych ujęć tego namysłu. Najważniejszą jednak częścią pracy stanowiła próba rekonstrukcji republikańskiego ustroju Nowogrodu Wielkiego. W rozdziale trzecim opisano ład instytucjonalny Nowogrodu Wielkiego, zaś w rozdziale czwartym podjęto próbę rekonstrukcji zasad ustroju Nowogrodu Wielkiego; pomocnym dla realizacji tego zadania okazało się porównanie Nowogrodu Wielkiego z I Rzeczpospolitą. Zamiast zakończenia przedstawiono najważniejsze osiągniecia Nowogrodu Wielkiego.

The work deals with the republican system of Novgorod the Great. The first chapter briefly presents the history of Novgorod the Great, particular attention was paid to the foreign policy of the North Russian Republic. The second section discusses the evolution of the republican’s reflection while trying to find the common elements of different approaches to the topic. However, the most important part of the paper is the attempt to reconstruct the republican system of Novgorod the Great. The third chapter describes the institutional order of Novgorod the Great. The fourth chapter is an attempt to reconstruct the principles of the Novgorod; a comparison of Novgorod the Great and the Republic of Poland helped to achieve that task. Instead of a conclusion, the paper presents the most important achievements of Novgorod the Great.
