Axiological education in school readings based on "The Chronicles of Narnia" by C. S. Lewis and "The Hobbit" by J. R. R. Tolkien

Celem niniejszej pracy licencjackiej jest analiza edukacji aksjologicznej w lekturach szkolnych na podstawie „Opowieści z Narnii: Lew, czarownica i stara szafa” C.S. Lewisa oraz „Hobbita” J.R.R. Tolkiena. Praca skupia się na, wyjaśnieniu podstawowych pojęć z pogranicza aksjologii oraz pedagogiki, mechanizmów psychologicznych sprzyjających zjawisku tworzenia kręgosłupa moralnego oraz identyfikacji i omówieniu wartości moralnych i etycznych prezentowanych w obu dziełach, a także na roli tych wartości w życiu młodego człowieka. W pracy podkreślono potrzebę edukacji aksjologicznej jako kluczowego elementu w kształtowaniu postaw dzieci i zwrócono uwagę na jej zanikanie, definiując zjawisko to jako niepokojące.

AbstractThe aim of this bachelor's thesis is to analyze axiological education in school readings based on „The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” by C.S. Lewis and „The Hobbit” by J.R.R. Tolkien. The thesis focuses on explaining the basic concepts from the intersection of axiology and pedagogy, the psychological mechanisms conducive to the phenomenon of moral backbone formation, and the identification and discussion of moral and ethical values presented in both works, as well as the role of these values in the life of a young person. The thesis emphasizes the need for axiological education as a key element in shaping moral and ethical attitudes among children and highlights its decline, defining this phenomenon as alarming.
