Cooperation of Polish and Swedish jazz musicians in the years 1950 – 1980 (on selected examples)

W pracy scharakteryzowano kontakty polskich muzyków jazzowych urodzonych w latach 30- tych i 40 tych XX wieku z muzykami szwedzkimi. W rozdziale pierwszym scharakteryzowano samo zjawisko jazzu, w rozdziale drugim przedstawiono polską i szwedzką sytuację po II wojnie światowej. W rozdziale trzecim opisano jazz jako uniwersalny język muzyczny. Życiorysy polskich muzyków zostały przedstawione w rozdziale czwartym. Rozdział piąty jest poświęcony charakterystyce kontaktów pomiędzy polskimi i szwedzkimi muzykami jazzowymi. Dodatkowo w pracy zamieszczono cztery wywiady z polskimi muzykami jazzowymi.

The aim of this thesis is to characterize the relationship between Polish and Swedish jazz musicians born in the thirties and forties of the twentieth century. Following the description of the phenomenon of jazz in the first chapter, the situation in Poland and Sweden after the second world war is closely examined. The third chapter is focused on the description of jazz being the universal language of music. The biographies of Polish musicians are discussed in the fourth chapter. The fifth chapter is devoted to the core of the thesis – the elaboration on the relationship between the jazz musicians from the given countries. The analysis is based on four interviews with Polish jazz artists conducted for the purpose of this paper.
