Cultural Globalisation - threat or appreciation of native culture? The development of tolerance towards other cultures on the example of students staying on a scholarship Erasmus

Multikulturalizm w obecnych czasach jest widoczny na każdym kroku. Konfrontacja z obcą kulturą może przynieść różne konsekwencje, wszystko zależne jest od poziomu tolerancji i rodzaju posiadanej wiedzy względem „Innego”. Niniejsza praca magisterska skupia się na odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy wyjazd na stypendium Erasmus jest w stanie zmienić postrzeganie obcej kultury. Praca składa się z czterech rozdziałów. Rozdział pierwszy dotyczy szeroko rozumianej kultury, jej wymiarów i rodzai. Rozdział drugi dotyczy globalizacji, jej konsekwencji, stereotypów i konfliktów we współczesnym świecie. Rozdział trzeci to metodologia badania, zawierająca cel pracy, problem badawczy oraz charakterystykę użytego narzędzia badawczego i metody. Ostatni rozdział to prezentacja wyników badań, ich analiza i interpretacja. Praca kończy się podsumowaniem i bibliografią.

Multiculturalism is something we come across on a regular basis in this day and age. Confronting various cultures can bring various consequences, depending on the level of tolerance and the knowledge about the so called "other". This Masters Thesis is focused around finding the answer to the question of whether going away and being an exchange student within the Erasmus program can change the way of perceiving foreign culture. The paper consists of four chapters. Chapter one talks us through the wider understanding of culture, its dimensions and different kinds. Chapter 2 touches on the topic of globalisation, presenting its consequences, stereotypes and conflicts within the modern contemporary world. Chapter three presents a research methodology, including the aim of the Masters Thesis, the research problem and the characteristics of research tools and methods that have been used. The final chapter is the presentation, analysis and the interpretation of the research results. At the end of the paper is the summary and bibliography.
