Presentation of the Slovak-Hunagrian borderland in the works of Lajos Grendel

Prezentowana praca licencjacka poświęcona została przedstawieniu problemu, jakim jest kwestia pogranicza słowacko-węgierskiego, w twórczości węgierskiego prozaika żyjącego na Słowacji – Lajosa Grendela. Na początku przybliżone zostały główne założenia współczesnego regionalizmu literackiego oraz literatury pogranicza, stosunki słowacko-węgierskie, życiorys i twórczość autora oraz sytuacja współczesnej literatury węgierskiej na Słowacji. W dalszej części pracy, w oparciu o dwie powieści Grendela – Szajka (Galeri) oraz Życie w cztery tygodnie (Négy hét az élet), charakterystyce poddana została specyfika wspomnianego regionu, z wyszczególnieniem takich problemów, jak przestrzeń pogranicza, tożsamość jego mieszkańców oraz kwestia historii oraz pamięci.

The presented thesis is devoted to presenting the problem of the Slovak-Hungarian borderland in the work of the Hungarian prose writer living in Slovakia – Lajos Grendel. At the beginning were presented the main assumptions of contemporary literary regionalism and borderland literature, Slovak-Hungarian relations, the author's biography and work and the situation of contemporary Hungarian literature in Slovakia. In the further part of the thesis, based on two novels by Grendel – Galeri and Négy hét az élet, the specificity of the region is characterized, with details such as the borderland space, the identity of its inhabitants and the question of history and memory.
