A comparison of existential philosophy and the philosophy of dialogue on the basis of ethics and philosophical anthropology on selected examples

Poniższa praca dotyczy porównania dwóch nurtów XX wiecznej myśli europejskiej: filozofii egzystencji oraz filozofii dialogu. Porównanie zostało dokonane na przykładowych zagadnieniach z zakresu etyki oraz antropologii filozoficznej. Filozofowie, w oparciu o których dokonano porównania to przedstawiciele filozofii egzystencji: Lew Szestow, Mikołaj Bierdiajew, Karl Jaspers i Martin Heidegger oraz dialogicy, Martin Buber i Emmanuel Levinas. Praca podzielona jest na dwie części. Pierwszy rozdział skupia się na sytuacji człowieka w świecie oraz pojęciu egzystencji w ujęciu wymienionych filozofów. Drugi rozdział prezentuje ich poglądy na tematy etyczne, takie jak moralność, wolność, odpowiedzialność, wina oraz relacje człowieka z innymi. Celem pracy jest potwierdzenie tezy, że oba nurty mają ze sobą wiele wspólnego i stawianie między nimi granicy jest niepotrzebne.

This essay focus on the comparison of two trends in the twentieth century European thought: the philosophy of existence and the philosophy of dialogue. The comparison was made on a sample issues of ethics and philosophical anthropology. Prepared comparison is based on the philosophers that represent the existential philosophy: Lev Shestov, Nikolai Berdyaev, Karl Jaspers and Martin Heidegger; and dialogicians, Martin Buber and Emmanuel Levinas. Essay is divided into two parts. The first chapter focuses on the human situation in the world and the concept of existence among these philosophers. The second chapter presents their views on ethical themes, such as morality, freedom, responsibility, guilt and human relations with others. The aim of this essay is to confirm the thesis that both trends have much in common and putting a border beetwen them is unnecessary.
