The private library of the architect and conservator, professor Alfred Majewski 1907-1998.

W pracy przedstawiono księgozbiór domowy architekta Alfreda Majewskiego. Celem analizy było wykazanie wartości użytkowej księgozbioru jako warsztatu naukowo-zawodowego. Podstawę źródłową do badań stanowił zbiór 304 pozycji, wybranych z liczącego 409 woluminów księgozbioru. Całość księgozbioru została podzielona według zakresu tematycznego na cztery następujące działy: sztuka (architektura, malarstwo, historia sztuki), historia, literatura piękna, encyklopedie i słowniki. W badaniach wykorzystano metodę bibliograficzną, metodę biograficzną oraz metodę badań statystycznych. Dane liczbowe opracowano w formie tabel i wykresów, a pracę uzupełniono fotografiami umieszczonymi w tekście oraz w aneksach.

The thesis presents the private library of the architect Alfred Majewski. The aim of the thesis is to show the practical value of the book collection as a tool for academic and professional activities. The analysis of the library was carried out from formal and content-related point of view. The chronological topog¬raphic and linguistic range were presented. The source base for the studies was a collection of 304 books, according to the thematic criteria and divided into four sections: art (architecture, history of art, painting), history, fiction, encyclopedias and dictionaries (glossaries, lexicons). In these studies a bibliographic method, biographical method and survey method were applied. The quantitative results of the research are described in the form of tables and graphs and the thesis was supplemented with illustrations listed in annexes.
