Udoskonalanie umiejętności mówienia w języku angielskim pod względem płynności oraz dokładności za pomocą technologii komputerowej - studium przypadku.

Przedmiotem badań niniejszej pracy jest ocena wpływu technologii na doskonalenie umiejętności mówienia w języku angielskim pod kątem płynności oraz dokładności wypowiedzi.We wstępie przedstawiony został cel pracy. Część teoretyczna zawiera przegląd literatury dotyczący zagadnień takich jak: mówienie oraz sposoby uczenia umiejętności mówienia w języku angielskim, czynnik stresu, podłoże pedagogiczne, dokładność wypowiedzi, płynność wypowiedzi oraz technologia używana do nauki umiejętności wypowiedzi w języku angielskim. Część praktyczna zawiera informacje dotyczące studium przypadku, opisu obiektu badań, metodologii, rezultatów badań i ich analizy oraz dyskusję dotyczącą wyników badań. Obiekt badań to 18/19stoletnia uczennica liceum ogólnokształcącego, która interesuje się fotografią. Nagrywała ona swoje wypowiedzi w języku angielskim przez sześć miesięcy przy pomocy programu VoiceThread. Wypowiedzi obiektu opierały się na dwóch poleceniach: pierwsze polegało na oglądnięciu filmu wideo dotyczącego fotografii a następnie opowiedzenie o tym filmie, drugie polegało na opowiedzeniu o jednym ze zdjęć, które obiekt wykonała. Następnie wypowiedzi te zostały poddane transkrypcji oraz analizie wypowiedzi pod kątem płynności oraz dokładności wypowiedzi. Analiza wyników została przedstawiona za pomocą tabel oraz wykresów, a następnie dokładnie omówiona. Analizie poddane również zostały dwa wywiady przeprowadzone z obiektem badań. W celu poprawy błędów popełnianych przez obiekt badań wprowadzono dodatkowe lekcje, podczas których obiekt współpracowała z autorem w celu wyeliminowania w przyszłości błędów, które popełniła do tej pory. Wyniki pozyskane w tym badaniu wykazują wzrost pod względem zarówno płynności jak i dokładności w mówieniu po angielsku.

This case study investigates how speaking fluency and accuracy can be improved with the help of technological tools that were specifically chosen for this study. The theoretical part of this study consists of literature review on the subjects related to this study, such as speaking anxiety, pedagogical background, previous research regarding fluency and accuracy and the influence of technology on teaching and learning English with the focus on the speaking skills. The empirical part aims to answer two research questions: what technological tools can be used in order to improve the student's speaking skills and how does technology augmented speaking skills teaching affect the two categories mentioned in the title of the work. The subject of the study is briefly described, methodology is discussed and the results are presented and thoroughly discussed. The subject of this study is a 18/19 year old girl from Poland who attended secondary school and who is interested in photography. Two tasks were designed for the needs of this study. The investigation lasted six months during which 15 recordings have been gathered and six of them have been analysed in terms of: total time needed to complete the task; total number of words; raw and pruned speech rates; number of filled pauses and repetitions per 100 words; and percentage of error-free clauses and correct verb forms. In order to improve the student's speaking skills, additional lessons were implemented where the student was presented with additional materials that focused on the mistakes and errors made by the student. During those lessons glossaries with vocabulary from the videos were presented to the student and the videos were re-watched with the researcher in order to address the vocabulary-related shortcomings of the subject.The analysis of the gathered data shows improvements in both fluency and accuracy of the delivered utterances.
