Opinions patients Municipal Hospital Specialist im.G. Narutowicz in Krakow on the role of social support during pregnancy.

Wstęp: Wsparcie to pomoc natury informacyjnej, materialnej, emocjonalnej udzielana osobom potrzebującym. Wywiera korzystny wpływ na zdrowie fizyczne i psychiczne. Działa jak ,,bufor” wobec negatywnych skutków stresu, korzystnie wpływa na przebieg leczenia. Wsparcie społeczne odgrywa istotną rolę w przebiegu ciąży.Cel pracy: Poznanie opinii pacjentek dotyczących roli wsparcia społecznego w przebiegu ciąży.Materiały i metodyka: Badaniami objęto 100 pacjentek, które zgłosiły się do porodu w Szpitalu Miejskim Specjalistycznym im. Gabriela Narutowicza w Krakowie. Narzędzie badawcze stanowiła ankieta opracowana przez autorkę pracy. Wnioski: Wsparcie społeczne odgrywa istotną rolę w przebiegu ciąży. Wsparcie emocjonalne jest konieczne ze względu na szereg zmian w psychice kobiety, w ciąży zagrożonej jest niezbędne, zmniejsza lęk i obniża poziom stresu. Źródłem wsparcia informacyjnego i instrumentalnego jest personel medyczny, który edukując kobiety wpływa na prawidłowy przebieg ciąży, wspomaga dobrostan nienarodzonego dziecka.

Introduction: Support means informational, material and emotional help provided to the ones in need. It positively affects their physical and emotional health. It works as a “buffer” towards negative effects of stress, and is beneficent for the healing process. Social support plays an important role throughout the course of pregnancy.Aim of the thesis: The survey of female patients about their opinion on social support during the course of a pregnancy.Materials and methods: The survey included 100 female patients, who decided to deliver in Gabriel Narutowicz Municipal Specialist Hospital in Cracow. Research was conducted through the survey prepared by the author of this thesis.Conclusions: Social support plays an important role during the course of pregnancy. Emotional support is essential due to numerous changes that take place in woman’s psyche during pregnancy, while in endangered pregnancies emotional support is necessary, since it decreases anxiety and stress levels. The source of informational and instrumental support is the medical personnel, which through education of future mothers, help the pregnancy run its normal course and ultimately contribute to the wellbeing of an unborn child.
