Hungarian Culture in Relation to the Eternal Moral Values of Antiquity: Based on Two Inspirations from Sophocles' Drama

Praca skupia się na przedstawieniu wartości, jakimi charakteryzuje się Elektra Sofoklesa i porównaniu jej postaci z bohaterkami dramatu "Magyar Elektra" Pétera Bornemiszy oraz filmu "Szerelmem, Elektra" Miklósa Jancsó. Analiza komparatystyczna dowodzi uniwersalności tej bohaterki oraz reprezentowanych przez nią wartości moralnych, które są nadal aktualne, mimo zmieniających się czasów, obyczajów i sytuacji społeczno-politycznej. W pracy zostają omówione wartości takie jak determinacja, honor, pobożność, pamięć, sprawiedliwość czy prawda. Przy analizie brany jest pod uwagę kontekst i okoliczności powstania danego dzieła oraz poglądy autora.

This work focuses on presenting the values embodied by Sophocles' Electra and comparing her character with the heroines of Péter Bornemisza's drama 'Magyar Elektra' and Miklós Jancsó's film 'Szerelmem, Elektra.' The comparative analysis demonstrates the universality of this character and the moral values she represents, which remain relevant despite changing times, customs, and socio-political situations. The study discusses values such as determination, honor, piety, memory, justice, and truth. The analysis takes into account the context and circumstances of the creation of each work as well as the views of the author.
