Healing plants on the Miechowska Upland

W okresie od maja do października 2011 roku przeprowadzono badania ankietowe o charakterze etnobotanicznym wśród mieszkańców Wyżyny Miechowskiej, wykorzystując metodę kwestionariusza. Celem pracy było określenie stopnia wykorzystania roślin, występujących na Wyżynie Miechowskiej do celów leczniczych przez ludność ją zamieszkującą. W celu sporządzenia dokumentacji florystycznej przygotowano zielnik, zawierający rośliny uprawne oraz dziko rosnące, wskazane przez respondentów. Dodatkowo rozważano wpływ takich czynników, jak: wiek, płeć, wykształcenie na zainteresowanie ziołolecznictwem ludowym.Uzyskane wyniki wykazały, że nie ma ścisłej zależności między wymienionymi czynnikami a stosowaniem roślin leczniczych na danym terenie. Ponadto stwierdzono, że wiedza na temat zastosowania roślin w lecznictwie jest przekazywana nie tylko w formie tradycji ustnej o charakterze lokalnym, lecz stanowi połączenie różnych jej źródeł, przybierając bardziej globalną postać.

In the period from May to October 2011, the ethnobotanical survey was conducted among people of the Miechowska Upland. For this purpose the questionnaire method was used. The aim of this thesis was to define whether the respondents use herbs as a cure for various diseases. In order to draw up the documentation, herbarium was prepared, which consisted of domesticated and wild plants, indicated by the respondents. The other task was to estimate whether factors, such as: age, sex or education, have an influence on the interest in the herbal medicine. Results showed that there was no strict connection between above-mentioned factors and herb treatment, used by the respondents. Additionally, the survey showed that the knowledge, concerning the usage of plants in medicine, is passed not only by word of mouth, but also by books, mass media or the Internet.
