Abbas Kiarostami – a case study of Iranian New Wave

Nurt ten, nazywany irańską Nową Falą, jest bardzo ważnym elementem historii światowego kina. Abbas Kiarostami, jako jeden z najwybitniejszych przedstawicieli irańskiej Nowej Fali, tworząc filmy o tematyce dziecięcej, przez lata miał silny wpływ na kształtowanie jego rodzimej kinematografii. Dodatkowo, ponadczasowość jego dzieł sprawiła, iż został uznany za jednego z najistotniejszych reżyserów kina światowego.

Cinema is a highly important part in Persian culture. Over the years it functioned as a way of introducing highlights of two thousand years of Persian history and later of Iran. Some years before and after the Islamic Revolution the movie directors very often used every day life as their inspiration which is called an Iranian New Wave. This was a very important part of world cinematography. Abbas Kiarostami was one of the best directors representing Iranian New Wave based on children and over the years he was very influential in cinematography in Iran. Furthermore his works were so beyond and above his time that he is considered as one of the most renounced movie directors in the world today.
