Psychological support for people with minority sexual orientations

Praca zawiera podstawowe informacje niezbędne w pomocy psychologicznej lub terapeutycznej z klientem o mniejszościowej orientacji seksualnej. Omówione w niej zostały zarówno terapie reparatywne, mające na celu zmianę orientacji, jak i afirmatywne, akceptujące mniejszościową seksualność klienta. W dalszej części pracy refleksji poddana została specyfika kontaktu z klientem LGB (ang. lesbian, gay, bisexual), zarówno z punktu widzenia specyficznych problemów zgłaszanych przez tę grupę klientów, jak i z punktu widzenia wyzwań, stojących przed terapeutą, podejmującym się pracy z takim klientem. Następnie omówiona została specyfika terapii pary jednopłciowej. Ostatni rozdział dotyczy pomocy psychologicznej rodzicom osób o mniejszościowych orientacjach seksualnych. W Aneksie znaleźć można przykładowe miejsca świadczące pomoc psychologiczną/terapeutyczną osobom LGB w Polsce.

The study contains the basic information needed counseling or therapy with a client with a minority sexual orientation. It has been discussed both reparative therapies designed to change the orientation and affirmative acceptance sexuality minority clients. The rest of the work has undergone a specific reflection of contact with LGB clients (called lesbian, gay, bisexual), both in terms of specific problems reported by this group of clients, and in terms of the challenges facing the therapist, that undertake to work with the client. Then discusses the specifics of same-sex couples therapy. The last chapter deals with the psychological support to parents of people with minority sexual orientations. In the Appendix you will find an example of providing psychological/therapeutic LGB people in Poland.
