The language that carries a testimony of infirmity (selected reports of survivors of the Volhynian massacres)

Praca licencjacka powstała w oparciu o analizę ponad stu świadectw ocalałych ze zbrodni wołyńskiej. Rozprawa zawiera podstawowe wiadomości o ludobójstwie wołyńskim, a także próbę umiejscowienia obszaru rozważań na kanwie kategorii świadectwa. W pracy zbadano także poetykę wybranych świadectw, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem kategorii czasu, przestrzeni, milczenia oraz niewyrażalności języka. Analizie poddano również sposoby kreowania wizerunku oprawców i opisy zbrodni. Ponadto zwrócono szczególną uwagę na problemy autodesygnacji, „atencji”, pracy biograficznej, cielesności, wiary, przebaczenia oraz przekleństwa.

The BA thesis is dealing with the theme of the Volhynian massacres. Its purpose is to examine the language used to describe the whole tragedy by its survivors in more than one hundred testimonies. Their language was analysed in terms of such categories as testimony, identification and speechlessness. Problems of auto-designation, biographical work, corporeality, faith, forgiveness and curses were also taken into consideration. Likewise, the study attempts to approach the texts from the perspective of expressing the inexpressible.
