Conquest of Mexico. Reasons for the fall of the Aztec Empire.

Niniejsza praca podzielona jest na trzy rozdziały. Pierwszy jest zbiorem informacji o realiach politycznych, społecznych oraz kulturowych Hiszpanii i Imperium Azteckiego z przełomu XV i XVI wieku. Przedstawiony został w nim także opis początków wyprawy Hernana Cortesa. W rozdziale drugim omówiony został przebieg konkwisty - od wkroczenia konkwistadorów do Tenochtitlanu do momentu ostatecznego upadku miasta. Koncentruje się on głównie na militarnych oraz politycznych przyczynach rozpadu Imperium. Trzeci rozdział jest podsumowaniem oraz najważniejszą częścią pracy. Przedstawia szereg różnorodnych czynników - podzielonych na cztery kategorie - które na wielu poziomach przyczyniły się do klęski Azteków.

This thesis is divided into three chapters. The first one is a collection of information about political, social and cultural realities in Spain and the Aztec Empire at the turn of the fifteenth century. It also describes the beginnings of the expedition led by Hernan Cortes. The second chapter is an overview of the conquest - from the conquistadors' arrival in Tenochtitlan to the moment of the city's definitive fall. It concentrates mainly on military and political reasons for the collapse of the Empire. The third chapter is the summary, as well as the most important part of the thesis. It demonstrates a variety of different factors - divided into four categories - which on many levels contributed to the defeat of the Aztecs.
