Praca omawia model bohatera oraz postawę "ostatniego Rzymianina" na przykładzie dwóch postaci: Kasjodora z powieści Hanny Malewskiej oraz Francois z Michela Houellebecqa. Na tle destrukcji świata, końca swoich cywilizacji, obaj bohaterowie próbują określić swoją tożsamość. Praca porównuje sposoby oraz efekty tych prób.
The thesis discusses the "Last Roman" protagonist model and the attitudes thereof based on the examples of two characters: Cassiodorus from a novel by Hanna Malewska and Francois from Michel Houellebecq's work. Against a background of the destruction of the world, the end of their civilisations, both protagonists attempt to determine their identity. The thesis compares the methods and the effects of these efforts.
