FORMS AND METHODS OF NAZI PROPAGANDA IMPACT OF THE THIRD REICH IN ACTION ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE MINISTRY OF PROPAGANDA AND PUBLIC ENLIGHTENMENT

Nadrzędnym celem niniejszej pracy jest przedstawienie i analiza metod i form używanych przez Nazistów w celu szerzenia propagandy. By dokładnie zobrazować działanie tej machiny przedstawiono szczegółowy życiorys Josepha Goebbelsa, uchodzącego za lidera w tej dziedzinie, wpływowego Ministra Propagandy i Oświecenia Publicznego.Ponadto, ukazano jak ogromny wpływ wywierał dr Joseph Goebbels na działalność Partii Narodowosocjalistycznej, poprzez opisanie rosnącej pozycji w strukturach NSDAP, a także stosunków panujących pomiędzy nim i Adolfem Hitlerem, a także innymi działaczami. Następnie przedstawiono, w sposób szczegółowy, strukturę organizacyjną Ministerstwa Propagandy i Oświecenia Publicznego, opisując jego kontrolę nad takimi dziedzinami życia kulturalnego Niemiec jak: prasa, radio, film, literatura, teatr, muzyka, sztuka oraz turystyka. W ostatnim rozdziale przeanalizowano i dokonano oceny roli Ministerstwa Propagandy i Oświecenia Publicznego w czasach Trzeciej Rzeszy. Opisano główne cele i założenia wybranych departamentów wspomnianego Ministerstwa, a także przedstawiono schemat PROMI z dnia 1 października 1933 roku oraz w momencie jego największej rozbudowy.

The primary goal of the above thesis is to show and analyze methods and forms employed by the Nazis so as to disseminate their propaganda. In order to depict the operation of already mentioned machine of propaganda precisely, it was necessary to include a detailed description of dr Joseph Goebbels, the leader in this field, extremely influential Minister for Public Enlightenment and Propaganda. What is more, it was shown how considerable was the influence that Goebbels had on the activity of the Nazi Party, by describing his increasing position in structures of NSDAP as well as the relationship between him and Adolf Hitler as well as other Party members.Next, the organizational structure of the Ministry for Public Enlightenment and Propaganda was described, by means of depicting its control over the following fields of German culture: press, radio, film, literature, theatre, music, art and tourism. Finally, in the last chapter, the analysis and evaluation of the role of the Ministry for Public Enlightenment and Propaganda during the Third Reich period were included. Furthermore, main goals and assumptions of chosen Ministry’s Departments were shown together with PROMI schemas from the 1st October 1933 and from the period of its greatest expansion.
