Humor in the literary fairy-tales on the example of Andersen's fairy-tales, "The Rose and the Ring" by Thackeray and Leśmian's prose.

Praca dotyczy funkcjonowania kategorii komizmu w wybranych baśniach literackich. Początkowe rozdziały omawiają teoretyczną stronę zagadnienia. Rozdział pierwszy dotyczy definicji baśni jako gatunku piśmiennictwa, prezentuje też różne jej odmiany: baśń literacką i baśń folklorystyczną. Rozdział drugi opisuje zwięźle zjawisko komizmu – jego funkcje i formy oraz stan badań nad tą kategorią estetyczną. Następnie rozpoczyna się część interpretacyjna pracy. Pierwszy z rozdziałów interpretacyjnych dotyczy przykładów i celów różnych odmian komizmu (ironii, satyry i humoru) w baśniach Hansa Christiana Andersena. Rozdział następny mówi o analogicznych zjawiskach w powieści Pierścień i róża Williama Makepeace’a Thackeraya. Ostatni z rozdziałów interpretacyjnych dotyczy komizmu w baśniach Bolesława Leśmiana (mowa o utworach inspirowanych Księgą tysiąca i jednej nocy). Problem ten jest omawiany m.in w kontekście innych baśni komicznych inspirowanych kulturą Orientu (Awantury arabskie Kornela Makuszyńskiego). Część porównawcza mówi o podobieństwach i różnicach w funkcjonowaniu komizmu we wszystkich analizowanych i interpretowanych dziełach. Po niej następuje krótkie podsumowanie całości rozważań i wyciągnięcie wniosków.

This work is concerned with the functioning of the humor in the selected literary fairy tales. The first chapters present the theoretical side of this subject area. The initial chapter involves a definition of fairy tale and provides its different types: a literary fairy tale and folk tale. The second chapter deals with the phenomenon of humor: its functions, forms and the state of research of this aesthetic category. The next section is devoted to interpretation of the selected fairy tales. The first interpretative chapter concerns examples and objectives of different varieties of humor (satire, irony, and comedy) in the fairy tales by Hans Christian Andersen. The next chapter deals with analogous phenomena in The Rose and the Ring by William Makepeace Thackeray. The last of interpretative chapter examines the humor in fairy tales of Bolesław Leśmian - the stories inspired by One Thousand and One Nights. This question is considered in the context of different comic fairy tales nspired by the Orient (e.g. Awantury arabskie by Kornel Makuszyński). The comparative section deals with the similarities and differences in the functioning of humor in all the analyzed writings. The last part of the work includes a brief summary and conclusions.
