Satisfaction with the patient's health education after aortic bypass surgery and aortic valve implantation - a case study

Wstęp: Satysfakcja pacjenta jest subiektywnym stanem emocjonalnym, będącym rezultatem korzystania z usług medycznych. Jest to różnica między oczekiwaniami pacjenta a tym, jak dane usługi zostały wykonane lub czy nastąpiło pełne zaspokojenie pragnień i potrzeb pacjenta. Edukacja zdrowotna jest ważnym elementem postępowania terapeutycznego, a badanie poziomu satysfakcji z edukacji pozwala na zlokalizowanie obszarów wymagających poprawy oraz czynników, które na nią wpływają, aby w przyszłości móc wprowadzić zmiany i świadczyć jak, najwyższą jakość usług.Cel pracy: Celem pracy była ocena satysfakcji z edukacji zdrowotnej pacjentki po przebytej operacji pomostowania aortalno-wieńcowego oraz wszczepieniu zastawki aortalnej.Materiał i metody: Badaniem objęto 72-letnią kobietę chorującą na nadciśnienie tętnicze, chorobę niedokrwienną serca oraz hipercholesterolemię, u której w wyniku zdiagnozowanej wady aortalnej przeprowadzono operację pomostowania aortalno-wieńcowego oraz wszczepienia zastawki aortalnej. Pacjentka w trakcie hospitalizacji brała udział w edukacji zdrowotnej, której celem było przygotowanie jej do zabiegu, edukacja na temat wymaganej farmakoterapii, zalecanego stylu życia, rehabilitacji, a także przygotowanie do samoopieki po powrocie do domu. W pracy posłużono się metodą studium indywidualnego przypadku, zastosowaną techniką była technika wywiadu, a także analiza dokumentacji medycznej, obserwacja i pomiar podstawowych parametrów życiowych. Narzędziami badawczymi wykorzystanymi w pracy były autorski kwestionariusz wywiadu, dokumentacja medyczna badanej osoby oraz narzędzia służące do pomiaru podstawowych parametrów życiowych.Wyniki: Satysfakcję z edukacji zdrowotnej, badana oceniła na bardzo wysokim poziomie.Wnioski: Bardzo wysoki stopień satysfakcji z edukacji zdrowotnej wynikał z faktu spełnienia oczekiwań pacjentki odnośnie jej zakresu, organizacji i poziomu przygotowania edukatorów, spośród których kobieta najwyżej oceniła kompetencje pielęgniarek. Badana bardzo dobrze oceniła także uzyskane informacje i nabyte umiejętności, które w jej opinii odpowiednio przygotowały ją do samoopieki i samopielęgnacji, a także korzystnie wpłynęły na poczucie odpowiedzialności oraz motywację do dbania o zdrowie.

Introduction: Patient satisfaction is a subjective emotional state that is the result of using medical services. This is the difference between the patient's expectations and how the services have been performed or the patient's wishes or needs fully met. Health education is an important element of the therapeutic management and researching the level of satisfaction with education allows to locate areas for improvement and factors that affect it, in order to be able to introduce changes and provide the highest quality of services in the future.Aim: The aim of the study was to assess of satisfaction with the patient's health education after coronary artery bypass surgery and aortic valve implantation.Material and methods: The study included a 72-year-old woman suffering from hypertension, ischemic heart disease and an hypercholesterolaemia in whom coronary artery bypass surgery and aortic valve implantation were performed as a result of the diagnosed aortic defect. The patient during hospitalization took part in health education, the purpose of which was to prepare the patient for surgery, education about prescribed pharmacotherapy, recommended lifestyle, rehabilitation, and preparation for self-care after returning home. In the following work was used method of the individual case study. The research technique used in the work was the interview, the analysis of medical records, the observation and the measurement of vital signs. The research tools used in the work are the author's interview questionnaire, the medical records of the examined person and tools for measuring the basic vital signs. Results: Satisfaction with health education was assessed at a very high level by the respondent.Conclusions: A very high degree of satisfaction with health education resulted from the fact that the patient's expectations regarding her scope, organization and level of preparation of educators were met, among which the woman rated the nurses' competence as the highest. The respondent also evaluated the information and acquired skills very well, which in her opinion properly prepared her for self-care, and also positively influenced the sense of responsibility and motivation to take care of health.
