Involvement of Polish military contingents in international stabilization operations on the example of operations in Afghanistan

W niniejszej pracy zostały przedstawione zagadnienia dotyczące zaangażowania polskich kontyngentów wojskowych w międzynarodowe działania stabilizacyjne na przykładzie operacji w Afganistanie w latach 2001-2021. Przedstawiono podłoże dotyczące okoliczności powstania i udziału Polskiego Kontyngentu Wojskowego w Afganistanie, jego struktury organizacyjne, zadania oraz stan zaangażowania ilościowego w poszczególne operacje. Zaprezentowano zakończenie wieloletniego udziału polskiego kontyngentu w Afganistanie oraz ukazano pozytywne i negatywne skutki dla Wojska Polskiego.

This paper presents issues related to the involvement of Polish military contingents in international stabilization operations on the example of the operation in Afghanistan in 2001-2021. The background concerning the circumstances of the creation and participation of the Polish Military Contingent in Afghanistan, its organizational structures, tasks and the status of quantitative involvement in various operations is presented. The conclusion of the long-term participation of the Polish contingent in Afghanistan is presented and the positive and negative effects on the Polish Army are shown.
