Political correctness vs. Monty Python - an analysis of the opinions of those studying at the Institute of Intercultural Studies

Celem w niniejszej pracy jest analiza reakcji studentów z Instytutu Studiów Międzynarodowych na wybrane skecze Monty Pythona, które mogą być odebrane jako kontrowersyjne w kontekście poprawności politycznej. W pierwszym rozdziale przedstawiono historyczne i kontrowersyjne zjawisko związane z humorem, czyli freak show. Następnie ukazano pojęcie poprawności politycznej, historię i pozytywne strony tego tematu. W drugim rozdziale opisano historię i twórczość grupy komików Monty Pythona. W trzecim rozdziale przedstawiono metodologie pracy, w tym celu zastosowano metodę eksperymentalną z wykorzystaniem praktyk. W czwartym rozdziale dokonano analizy wyników ankiet, które wypełnili studenci po obejrzeniu potencjalnie kontrowersyjnych skeczy.

The purpose in this paper is to analyze the reactions of students at the Institute of International Studies to selected Monty Python skits that may be perceived as controversial in the context of political correctness. The first chapter introduces the historical and controversial humor phenomenon, the freak show. Then the concept of political correctness, the history and positive sides of this topic were shown. The second chapter describes the history and work of the Monty Python group of comedians. The third chapter presents the methodologies of the work, for this purpose the experimental method with the use of practices was used. The fourth chapter analyzes the results of questionnaires that students filled out after watching potentially controversial skits.
