Organization of an international sports event based on the example of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022

Praca magisterska pt. "Organizacja międzynarodowej imprezy sportowej na przykładzie Mistrzostw Świata w piłce nożnej Katar 2022" skupia się na analizie i ocenie procesu organizacji Mistrzostw Świata w piłce nożnej 2022 w Katarze jako przykładu kompleksowej realizacji międzynarodowej imprezy sportowej. Celem pracy jest przedstawienie i ocena sposobu organizacji Mistrzostw Świata w piłce nożnej Katar 2022.W ramach pracy wykorzystano różnorodne źródła informacji, takie jak literatura naukowa, artykuły prasowe, raporty branżowe, badania ankietowe oraz oficjalne dokumenty związane z Mistrzostwami Świata 2022. W analizie skupiono się na kilku kluczowych obszarach: infrastruktura, logistyka, zarządzanie bezpieczeństwem, technologia, zrównoważony rozwój oraz społeczne i ekonomiczne skutki wydarzenia dla Kataru i regionu.Wyniki analizy wskazują na kompleksowy charakter procesu organizacyjnego oraz na unikalność tego wydarzenia w kontekście regionu Bliskiego Wschodu. Infrastruktura sportowa i logistyczna dostosowana do specyficznych warunków klimatycznych oraz innowacyjne technologie odegrały kluczową rolę w zapewnieniu efektywnej organizacji turnieju. Zarządzanie bezpieczeństwem i zrównoważonym rozwojem stanowiło istotne wyzwanie, lecz skuteczne strategie i środki zostały wdrożone w celu minimalizacji ryzyka.Przeprowadzono badania przy użyciu ankiety wśród polskich kibiców, aby sprawdzić w jaki sposób zareagowali oni na afery związane z mundialem, poznać ich zdanie na temat wyboru gospodarza mistrzostw, przebiegu turnieju oraz wpływ na jego organizację. W pracy zastosowano także technikę analizy dokumentów źródłowych do badania dokumentów związanych z procesem organizacji tego wydarzenia, takich jak raporty prasowe i dokumenty. To umożliwiło mi zdobycie głębszego wglądu w proces planowania i realizacji Mistrzostw Świata w piłce nożnej w Katarze oraz analizę ich wpływu na międzynarodową społeczność sportową i organizatorów imprez sportowych.W pracy przeanalizowano również wpływ Mistrzostw Świata 2022 na społeczność lokalną oraz gospodarkę Kataru, uwzględniając aspekty ekonomiczne, społeczne i kulturowe.

The master's thesis titled "Organization of an International Sports Event: A Case Study of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar" focuses on the analysis and evaluation of the organization process of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar as an example of the comprehensive implementation of an international sports event. The aim of the thesis is to delve into the key aspects related to planning, preparations, management, and assessment of this event in the context of the unique challenges associated with hosting an event of this caliber in the Middle East region.Various sources of information were utilized in this work, including scholarly literature, press articles, industry reports, and official documents related to the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The analysis concentrated on several key areas: infrastructure, logistics, security management, technology, sustainable development, and the social and economic impact of the event on Qatar and the region.The results of the analysis indicate the comprehensive nature of the organizational process and the uniqueness of this event in the context of the Middle East region. Sports and logistical infrastructure tailored to specific climatic conditions, as well as innovative technologies, played a crucial role in ensuring the efficient organization of the tournament. Security management and sustainable development posed significant challenges, but effective strategies and measures were implemented to minimize risks.To conduct the research, I used a survey among Polish football fans to assess their reactions to scandals related to the World Cup, understand their opinions on the choice of the host country, the course of the tournament, and its impact on the organization. In my work, I used the source document analysis technique to examine documents related to the process of organizing this event, such as press reports and documents. This enabled me to gain deeper insight into the planning and implementation of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar and analyze its impact on the international sports community and sporting event organizers.The thesis also examines the impact of the 2022 World Cup on the local community and Qatar's economy, taking into account economic, social, and cultural aspects.
